He died on January 25^th, 2011, at the age of 54.

Giuseppe Besana won the Master’s World Championship three times, in 2003, 2004 and 2005, as well as may prizes in European competitions. He won the Italian League in 1996. He was a bodybuilding promoter and organised yearly competitions in Costa Masnaga.

He worked as a trainer at Garbagnate Monastero for many years and in June 2010 he and three other partners, Gabriella Riva, Giuseppe Gerosa and Yose Beccalli, opened their own centre.

- 2002, 14^th edition, Master’s (age 40 - 50)

- 2003, 15^th edition, Master’s, first place (age 40-50)

- 2004, 16^th edition, Master’s, second place (age 40-50)

- 2009, 21^st edition, Master’s, second place (age 50+)
